Autoglym has launched Ultra Deep Shine, a polish which has been in development for seven years and is described by Sales Director David Rogers as the company’s most significant new retail product for nearly two decades.

Formulated by Autoglym’s R&D laboratory particularly for dark-coloured vehicles or those with the latest water-based and high solids finish, Ultra Deep Shine eliminates swirls, haze, greasiness and dust to produce a brilliant crystal-clear smear-free shine.

"Modern paint types both solids and metallic suffer particularly from swirls marks, especially dark colours," said Rogers. "Another problem is that most polishes dust a lot, and for those motorists seeking a perfect finish that can be a real problem.

"Ultra Deep Shine gives a professional finish and, when used with a micro-fibre cloth, produces total perfection. It is the ultimate polish for dark colours and modern paints."

Chief Executive Paul Caller said: "Ultra Deep Shine has been a long time in development, but we were determined not to launch it until all our objectives covering swirls, dust, haze, streaks and other parameters were met.

"This is a technological leap in polishes, and as such is a milestone product for Autoglym and also for the retail market."

Caller said it was expected that Ultra Deep Shine would account for up to 20 per cent of Autoglym’s polish sales within the UK. "Our current polish, Super Resin, satisfies the expectation of millions of motorists and will continue to do so, but Ultra Deep Shine will attract a new audience – those seeking to move up a level."

Ultra Deep Shine is available in a 500ml bottle and has a retail price of £11.99.
