17th - 20th June 2004
The rolling hills and farms of central Ohio provided the place, the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course provided the facilities, and vintage cars provided the artistic excitement. The featured pieces of artistic excitement were straight from the Midlands of England – Coventry and its surroundings to be exact. The period from June 17th through the 20th, brought out the classic Jaguars, and many other vintage machines as well. The Jaguar was the featured marque and its owners filled the bill with plenty of classic, vintage, and beautiful machines. This even includes the one British tank that was powered by a Jaguar engine. Not only were the vintage cars in evidence from the fans who drove them to the weekend of racing to be seen, but they were also on the track. Nine different classes of vintage cars were tuned, qualified, and raced on the beautiful Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course; a course which is comprised of 2.4 miles of roadway, that is 40 feet wide, and laid out with fourteen turns. The turns range from long sweeping arcs, to 180 degree hairpins, to S’s, to hills, and descents. The event is sponsored by Sprint and is under the guidance of the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA). Attached are pictures of many of the vintage machines brought to the festivities to be shown in the park-like infield of the course. The weather was totally enjoyable and the fans were treated to pieces of rolling art from the past.
