Editor's welcome - September 2004

Welcome to the September 2004 edition of Classic Car Times. This month I am very excited to be able to tell you all about a brand new facility on the site – ‘Classic Cars Reunited’. It is something that I’d previously considered but had repeatedly put off. That was until I was contacted by a reader enquiring whether I knew of any sites doing this. Not being able to find a satisfactory one there was only one answer and that was to crack on and do it myself. As well as the actual car listings, this month also includes an introduction to the facility, which you can read here. At the risk of being repetitive, I implore you to contribute to Classic Cars Reunited to ensure its success.

The only other thing to point out this month, and something which you may already have noticed, is that I have removed the banner adverts from the site. A few of you have commented on these and I must confess that I share your dislike for them but during the early days of the site I felt it to be a necessary evil.

The arrangement was quite simple – for every five banners that I displayed, my banner was displayed four times by other websites in the scheme. But the site is better established now and I doubt whether they were actually drawing in new visitors, so the banners have finally gone.

Hope you enjoy the site,
